A story that might encourage you today 📖

Hi Friends!

I wanted to make sure you didn’t miss this free resource from CJ and Shelley Hitz.

The Still Called to Write Devotional eBook was created for writers who started with excitement and purpose, only to find life interrupting the journey.

And even a little more exciting: I’m featured in it! Be sure to check out my devotional in Still Called: Where My Soul Expands

One story that stood out to me was Shelley’s.

Years ago, she had built a successful vegetarian cookbook series that sold thousands of copies and helped support her family. But despite the success, she realized she was pursuing something she no longer felt called to write.

Eventually, she retired the entire series.

At the time, it felt like a setback.

Looking back, it became a setup for what God truly wanted her to do — helping Kingdom Writers share the message God had placed on their hearts.

Maybe you’ve experienced something similar.

Maybe your writing stopped because life became overwhelming. Maybe you’ve wondered if it’s too late to begin again.

The stories inside the Still Called to Write Devotional remind us that God isn’t finished with the calling He’s given us.

You’ll also receive a free seat to the July 1 Writing Restart Session, where writers from around the world will gather for a simple 15-minute writing sprint.

Your comeback may be closer than you think.

Grace & Peace

P.S. The devotional will only be available through June 30. Get your free copy here: Still Called

About Jill English Johnston

God writes His story on every heart, if we only pause to read it. My heart has lived in a fantasy world since early childhood and am delighted that God has finally brought me to the place where I can bring the fantasies to life through story. I am currently working on a fantasy trilogy (of course) but I also post thoughts, reflections and (hopefully) inspiration to my website: tabletsofhumanhearts.wordpress.com I am a follower of the Rabbi Jesus, married to my best friend and inspiration, and the mother of three incredible children, one daughter and two sons, a son-in-love, a daughter-in-love and two adorable granddaughters. When not writing, I passionately pursue prayer, reading (never enough time to read them all!), and the outdoors. My husband and I both served in the US Navy and have lived/travelled through many states and all over Asia. We both still enjoy travelling, but we really love our home in New Braunfels, located at the Texas Hill Country.
