My heart has lived in a fantasy world since early childhood and I am delighted that God has finally brought me to the place where I can bring the fantasies to life through story. I’m blessed to encourage, equip and empower other writers and prayer warriors through my own writing and workshops.
I am a follower of the Rabbi Jesus, married to my best friend and inspiration, and the mother of three incredible children, one daughter and two sons, with a son-in-love, a daughter-in-love and two beautiful granddaughters. My husband and I both served in the US Navy and have lived/traveled through many states and all over Asia. We both still enjoy traveling, but we really love living in New Braunfels, located at the crossroads of Texas, just northeast of San Antonio and in the Texas Hill Country.
When not writing, I passionately pursue prayer, reading (there’s never enough time to read them all!), and the outdoors. I continue to explore what it means to be a good steward of all God has given: His love, His creation, His blessings, to include: family, friends, church, people, home, gifts, experiences, finances, and time. In this endeavor, reading, learning and listening with the desire to put it all into practice, then share the successes, the failures, and whatever is in between.
My husband, Jon T. Johnston, and I have recently published six photo devotional books on Amazon with another planned for November 2023. You can check them out on Amazon. Please visit my author website at jillenglishjohnston.com and on Goodreads at goodreads.com/Jill_English_Johnston

Jon and Jill currently live in New Braunfels, Texas and spend their time writing/taking pictures of God’s creation, watching sunsets, kayaking, hiking, cycling and traveling to visit grandchildren, children, family and friends.
Jill teaches and speaks on prayer and writing. She serves on her church’s prayer ministry team and is a national member of ACFW and their local chapter ACFW Alamo City and the Christian Writer’s Group of San Antonio.
Jill grew up on the shores of Lake Erie in northwest Pennsylvania and joined the United States Navy in 1986. She served as an Aerographer’s Mate (weather) and retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer on September 30th, 2010. While on active duty, she was stationed in the Philippines, South Texas, Japan, Guam, Southern California and the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. She served on board the USS Bonhomme Richard during Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. She and her family lived on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi in 2005, when Hurricane Katrina hit.
She has an associate’s degree in Weather Technology from the Community College of the Air Force, is certified as an instructor, and almost finished her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Natural Science from Thomas Edison State College, but never quite completed that last class.
Jill, So happy to see you embark on something that I know is so very important to you and we are blessed that you are sharing with us and as you say, beginning your next service career! Many of us look for ways to be giving and hopefully make a positive impact on the world during our short stay here and you are sharing your gift and inspiring the rest of us! Thank you and bless you! Love, Christine
