Every so often, I pause and take notice of the ministries God has used to shape my life—not all at once, but faithfully over time. Some are speaking into my life right now. Others have walked with me for years. And some laid foundations long ago that I’m still standing on today.
Currently, one ministry that continues to bless and re-center me is Wendy Speake’s work through The Sugar Fast, The Social Media Fast, and The Feast. For the past four years, my husband and I have participated in the 40-day sugar fast each January. It has become a gentle but firm reset after the holidays—clearing physical cravings, yes, but more importantly creating space for spiritual clarity. This year, we’re planning to take part in the social media fast. The noise has become too much, and our hearts are hungry to listen more closely to the Holy Spirit. Wendy’s teaching consistently points us back to freedom, attentiveness, and feasting on what truly satisfies.
For the past decade, The Bible Project has been a steady companion in our walk with Scripture. Their thoughtful teaching and beautiful artwork have helped us understand the ancient context of the Bible while faithfully applying it to life today. This year, we’re reading through the New Testament using their plan, and I’ve also completed several of their online classroom courses. I’m continually amazed that such rich, in-depth biblical education is offered freely—made possible through listener support. It has deepened my love for God’s Word and strengthened my confidence in reading it well.
And in the past, a ministry that profoundly shaped both my husband and me is The Navigators. Last night, we attended the funeral of a longtime Navigator friend, and testimony after testimony bore witness to a life poured out for Jesus and Scripture. My early years as a young woman, wife, and new mom were formed through Navigator discipleship, just as my husband’s were as a new follower of Jesus. At the funeral, I was able to hug the woman who discipled me—an embodied reminder of the fruit of faithful investment. Scripture memorization, time with the Lord, and discipling others were not just taught; they were lived.
Looking back and looking around, I’m grateful. God has been faithful to place wise voices, steady guides, and Spirit-filled communities along the way. And I’m reminded again: quiet faithfulness leaves lasting fruit.
Grace and Peace

Hi, I’ve been wondering how you’ve been doing. Pray things are well. This person you hugged, did she happen to mentor both of us? For some reason, I was thinking her husband passed away almost a decade ago? If you got to visit her, I’m glad. They are both special people that are gonna get really special positions in heaven with our Lord.
