Remembering 2015

On the first day of Christmas we were blessed to have
One senior in high school
And one one-year-old grandbaby
On the second day of Christmas we were blessed to have
Two second-class petty officers in the navy
And Jon was blessed to earn
Two degrees from the University of Incarnate Word
And Jill was blessed to spend
Two weeks in Hawaii visiting the grandbaby
On the third day of Christmas Jonny was blessed to submit
Three college applications
And we were blessed to have
Three families as houseguests throughout the year
On the fourth day of Christmas Jill was blessed to attend
Four days at a writer’s conference
And Jonny was blessed to take
Four overnight trips with friends
On the fifth day of Christmas Jill was blessed to mark
Five years retired from the Navy – and now she writes
On the sixth day of Christmas we were blessed to celebrate
Six newborn babies with some special friends
And Jon was blessed to spend
Six days in Colorado
On the seventh day of Christmas Jon was blessed to mark
Seven years retired from the Navy – and now he paints
On the eighth day of Christmas we were blessed to join
Eight friends for Bible study
On the tenth day of Christmas we were blessed to celebrate
Ten years – the anniversary of our church family
On the twelfth day of Christmas we were blessed to spend
Twelve days in Pennsylvania
And twelve wonderful months
Living the life God has given us, serving him, loving each other
And praying for all of our family and friends

Grace & Peace

About Jill English Johnston

God writes His story on every heart, if we only pause to read it. My heart has lived in a fantasy world since early childhood and am delighted that God has finally brought me to the place where I can bring the fantasies to life through story. I am currently working on a fantasy trilogy (of course) but I also post thoughts, reflections and (hopefully) inspiration to my website: tabletsofhumanhearts.wordpress.com I am a follower of the Rabbi Jesus, married to my best friend and inspiration, and the mother of three incredible children, one daughter and two sons, a son-in-love, a daughter-in-love and two adorable granddaughters. When not writing, I passionately pursue prayer, reading (never enough time to read them all!), and the outdoors. My husband and I both served in the US Navy and have lived/travelled through many states and all over Asia. We both still enjoy travelling, but we really love our home in New Braunfels, located at the Texas Hill Country.
